How I came to do photoart in my retirement
In college as an adult I studied art history and took some studio drawing and design classes. Not until I retired and moved to an adult community that had 100-plus clubs did I decide to "be" a photographer. I didn't learn much about how the camera operates, but I used my knowledge of balance, composition, color relationships, etc. to do quite well in photography class. After I won a wonderful editing software program I started experimenting with making "art" out of my images. I went on to win many competitions in club, and statewide (Arizona at the time) competitions as well as some in gallery competitions in the Phoenix area. Wisconsin became my home 2 years ago and I am now exhibiting in some wineries and coffeeshops in the Madison area.
